A few weeks ago I stumbled across your blog while searching for some content on Small Business. I have since read a few of your articles and I absolutely love reading the content on your site.

Yup, we’re all in our own little worlds sometimes. It begins with awareness: awareness that something needs to be done and awareness that one has the capacity/ability to ACT to see that something is done.

Bravo for you for your quick action. (I noted that it wasn’t until this “problem” had an effect on other commuters’ schedule that people were roused enough to act.)

There probably needs to be noted/posted/announced somewhere — repeatedly — that Metro doors are definitely NOT like elevator doors. They won’t retract when something is in their path. They are Man-Eating Doors. (We mean business here in Washington.)

Dr. Gridlock has a widget available here to show all elevator outages. (I just checked it, and it was about 3 hrs out of date, but better than nothing.)

Have you looked at ManagePro? They are not open source, but do offer lots of features and is easy to use.

I am looking forward to the spoiling. My father and his wife gave me giftcards to Victoria’s Secret and Nordstroms, which I am looking forward to using once closer to goal weight. Personal Goal is to be 50lbs down by my SxSW trip in 3 weeks.
